YOUR WELLBEING

Wellness
is more than just meeting your physical needs for food, exercise and rest.

To feel well, we also need:

  • clean, unpolluted, pleasant environments to live in

  • intellectual stimulation and outlets for our creativity

  • happy relationships with family and friends and emotional support in unhappy, challenging times

  • financial security

  • community connectivity

  • a sense of purpose and meaning in life.

I am building a network of caring people in our local community who are skilled in providing naturopathic advice, support in exercise and fitness, physical therapies, diagnostic services or psychological support. Read more about us below.

ANN TAYLOR Adv. Dip. Nut. Med, BSc, MSc (chem. eng)

I qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine in December 2015, and am now practicing as a naturopathic nutritionist with a philosophy that prioritises supporting our body’s capacity to heal with wholefoods that are as natural as possible or minimally processed, and preferably produced in ecologically sustainable ways.

I have  certificate qualifications in organic growing methods and permaculture design. I love working with soil and am fascinated by the science of healthy soil that teems with microbial life. And equally by the science of a healthy human gut, teeming with microbial life.

While living in South Africa with preschool children, I developed a herb display garden, researched nutritional solutions for ill-health, organised workshops and distributed organic produce and health foods.

Prior to that, with a Masters degree in chemical engineering, I worked as an environmental and waste management engineer and consultant in the mining, petrochemical and waste management industries, promoting waste minimisation, cleaner production and sustainable development – trying to help solve the world’s pollution problems! I also have qualifications in professional writing and workplace assessment and training.

My formal nutritional studies have helped me to really get to know how our bodies work and interact with our environment, in dealing with the food we eat, the toxins we are exposed to and stresses of life.  And I’d like to share this understanding and provide the support that can facilitate healthy changes for brighter futures.

KATJA WALKER Remedial massage therapist (Dip. RM)

I have five years experience as a massage therapist, and have been a remedial massage therapist for over two years since qualifying with the Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2013. I'm also an accredited member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists.

I practice at a home-based clinic in Cowan, as well as at a busy physiotherapy practice, where I have gained much experience in the treatment and prevention of sporting injuries.  I have a holistic approach to the human body that provides real results, by combining a variety of deep tissue and remedial techniques with the more intuitive and relaxing forms of massage.
